As many football fans across the country think back to the agony of narrowly missing out on European Cup glory, kind hearted members of Doncaster’s business community have proved once again that football is a game for all after breaking their fundraising goal of raising thousands of pounds to support local good causes in the borough, following the eagerly awaited return of the Doncaster Business Community Cup.

We’re proud to announce the launch our first charity fishing match which will take place on Saturday 21st August 2021. The event will take place at one of the UK’s premier commercial fisheries Maver Dynamite Hayfield Lakes.

The winner will be awarded the Doncaster Business for the Community Angling Cup together with a cash prize and Dynamite Baits prize. There will also be cash prizes for second and third place along with section prizes on the day.

The long-awaited return of this highly popular annual event will once again see The Business All Stars and The Commercial Legends competing for the trophy as DB4C also celebrates its fourth anniversary and in anticipation of an eventual return to normality, re-launches its sports themed fundraising events with participants drawn from businesses across Doncaster with the common goal of providing much needed support for local causes.

Doncaster Business Community Set To Hold Annual Cricket Match At Tickhill Cricket Club.

Doncaster Business for the Community has confirmed that Tickhill Cricket Club will for the first time host their annual cricket challenge.

The event entering it’s third year will take place on Sunday 8th September at the end of a summer that will have been packed with cricket action with the World Cup and The Ashes both taking place in the country.   It may not quite be on the same scale but once again the Commercial Legends and Business All-stars will compete for the DB4C Vase in a 20-20 game format.

The annual cricket challenge was the first event to be organised by Doncaster Business for the Community, the ground breaking and highly innovative charitable trust run entirely by the town’s business community which raises much needed funds for local charities and community projects.  The event has gone from strength to strength with a tried and tested format and like all of DB4C’s sporting events players will be drawn from across the business community.

This year DB4C have chosen as beneficiaries The Hygiene Bank and Create A Dream Foundation who carry out vital work in the local community.  The Hygiene Bank works extensively in Doncaster to help restore dignity and well being to those living in poverty by giving people access to basic hygiene and personal care essentials.  Local co-ordinator Jo Gilbert said:  “An important part of The Hygiene Bank ethos is to “donate local, help local” so we are thrilled to have been selected as one of the beneficiaries of the DB4C Vase match.  We are looking forward to a fabulous event.”

The Create A Dream Foundation was set up to help seriously ill children and young people in the area in making their dreams come true by helping to fund gifts and experiences.  Ben Ainger from the charity added:  “We as a Foundation are honoured and delighted that Doncaster Business for the Community have chosen us one of their charities to support.”

Dave Plant, coordinator of DB4C’s Cricket said:  “We are very excited about this year’s event and new venue.  We are now actively seeking players and sponsors with the first training session scheduled for 1st July at Tickhill Cricket Club.”

DB4C Director Martin Wilmott added:  “DB4C is now entering its third year of operations with an ever growing number of events and supporters.  The Annual DB4C cricket match is no different and is firmly established in the corporate calendar.  DB4C has achieved so much since its inception, proving that the town’s businesses through their participation in our sporting events care deeply about the community and its well-being.”
